Planning consultants don't have all the answers. In fact, most of the information needed to satisfy all the assessment criteria to get a planning permit comes from sub-consultants like surveyors, designers, and engineers, etc.  Engage aup town planning and we will quickly assemble a project team and ensure you get the best quality of information, for as little, and, as soon as possible.

Ensuring an application is 'complete' is essential to saving time and costs - and getting an approval as soon as possible because if something is missed or overlooked - Council will stop assessing the application until this information is provided - and from our perspective it's not professional, lazy, and unethical - and is not servicing our clients properly

aup town planning reduces the time taken to get permit application assessed by responding as early as possible to further information requests and ensuring no time is lost, and no additional costs are incurred getting an approval.

Pre-application meetings

Most Councils offer prospective developers a chance to meet with them before firming up a development concept and get their option o whether it would get approved. Some Councils offer this as a free service, others charge a fee. While the legitimacy of this fee - which can exceed $1,000 - is questionable - if the assessment criteria allow Council to exercise a lot of discretion - it's often well worth it to reduce the risk of spending too much money or time preparing a particular development proposal only to have it refused or altered in such a way that it no longer makes commercial sense or achieves our goals.

Learn more about the 'legitimacy' of these sort of fees - and when you should consider a pre-appliation meeting.
